OSOE Consulting Program

The OSOE Consulting Program aims to teach students how to make a small consulting process in a small company selected by the student.

Initial Requirement: Participate a OSOE Lecture

The student participant should first do at least a OSOE Class, and learn how to use ERP5, without know ERP5 well enough, it is impossible do any kind of consulting. This Lecture should include learn about categories and consulting process.

Stage 1: Select the Implementation Field

The participant should select a organisation that he prefers and he know well to be used as Implementation Field of the process. Each participant should select a different Implementation Field for his work. If the participant prefer, he can select one company suggested by the OSOE Instructor before the class.

Some companies can apply himself for the process, and be become part of a waiting list for a student available to the process.

Outcome: Participant selects the Implementation Field.

Stage 2: Fill the questionnaire for the Implementation Field

The participant should interview the company CEO or the Director directly interested to implement some ERP. If direct communication is too hard, the participant can send the questionnaire to the CEO by mail. All answers should be accurate and very precise, otherwise the next stages are impossible to conclude. The OSOE Instructor will review all replies for the participant. If some reply is imprecise or vague, the participant will have the oportunity to fix it.

Outcome: The participant should provide the reply for initial seven questions, this information will be required for Stage 4.

Stage 3: Questionnaire Review Meeting

The participant should meet your OSOE Instructor for review the questionnaire replies. The participant should make a short introduction and present the all replies to the instructor, during the meeting the instructor will review and advice the participant in which questions has good anwsers and which questions has bad answers. It is responsablity of the participant that the anwser has good quality. If the implementation field gives poor answers, the participant has to ask again and If it's not possible to get any good answer for a specific question, this has to be documented with a reason.

If required the participant should contact the company again in order to update the questions that has bad answers.

Outcome: The final version of the questionnaire answered.

Partial Grade: The Instructor will evaluate the participant questionnaire to define the participant grade based on the quality of the final version.

Stage 4: Fill categories spreadsheet

The participant should fill with the company CEO or the Director directly interested to implement some ERP, a spreadsheet with the categories related to the implementation field (Organisation). OSOE Instructor will teach during the class, how to fill this to the student. All answers should be accurate and very precise, otherwise the next stages are impossible to conclude. The OSOE Instructor will review all replies for the participant. If some reply is imprecise or vague, the participant will have the opportunity to fix it.

Outcome: The participant should provide the spreadsheet for the Implementation Field, this information will be required for Stage 4.

Stage 5: Use Questionnaire System

The participant will receive an account into OSOE Questionnaire System. The participant should use the system to reply all questions (it will require outcome from 2 and 3) with the information related to Implementation Field.  (ie.: Is it a problem host the system in the cloud? Do you want to implement with your staff?). The OSOE Instructor will review all replies for the participant.

Outcome: All information collected for a full Report.

Stage 6: Build Consulting Final Report

The participant should write a full report, with recommendation to the company CEO, how he should implement the ERP5 BR in order to have the major benefit when use the system. The student goal is provide to the CEO, what is best for him. It is not on scope of students task, implement the system only provide excellent information. In some cases, the recommendation can be very simple like install ERP5, use Configurator with your categories spreadsheets.

Outcome: The organisation receives a report how  to implement and use the erp5 to have the most higher benefit for your organisation. 

Final: The Outcome

The program will produce some documents that can be used by the participant and by implement implementation field to implement ERP5 or any other OpenSource ERP, with no obligation to contact any provider. The well know outcomes for the participant will be:

  • Learn an Open Source ERP, via initial OSOE training with all online material released in Creative Commons License.
  • Spreadsheet with category configuration, which can be used to customise any kind of ERP5 setup (local, cloud, hostd) to the implementation field.
  • Spreadsheet with all Answers, exported from the online questionnaire with precise answers related to the implemenation field.
  • Final Report, which contains recommendation how to use and implement ERP5 in the most efficient way to this company.
