The interview

Q: What is your name?

I'm Franck Spinelli,  CEO of Amarisoft, a French company that I founded together with Fabrice Bellard.

Q: What is your product?

We are creator of an innovative, fully sovereign, easily deployable and low-cost 5G technology based on software-defined radio signal processing. Traditional telecom equipment processes signals on dedicated hardware meaning huge costs for replacing this hardware every time there is a major update like from 4G to 5G. With our Amarisoft solution, you can do the same on simple servers and upgrading from 4G to 5G means simply updating the software.

Q: Tell us about a successful implementation. How did you implement it, why was it a success, where is this implementation today? Plans for the future? How is the relation with the client? Did the client help you get other clients?

One of our greatest professional successes is our collaboration with the operator Globatel, run by Carine and Christophe Boutin, which operates in Saint Pierre et Miquelon and in Mauritius, under the name Socatela Network. Globatel, the second largest telephone operator in St Pierre and Miquelon, has been licensed by ARCEP since 2012. The launch of 4G in the overseas territory was not easy: the island being sparsely populated, none of the major French telecom equipment manufacturers wanted to commit to the 4G network development project, which is why Carine and Christophe Boutin contacted Amarisoft to create a network offer for their operator Globatlel, adaptable from the operator's existing 2G network stations.

Our offer, combined with equipment from our partner AW2S allowed us to participate actively in the process of deploying the 4G network from 2014, both from a technical and commercial point of view, and which led after a few months to the deployment of the network on the North Atlantic Archipelago.

The reliability of the Amarisoft product and its reactivity in solving problems encountered during the initial implementation of the 4G network and since in the development of solutions according to the evolving needs of the equipment manufacturer and users has led to a succesfull collaboration which we are currently trying to extend to Mauritius.
