The interview

Q: What is your name?

I'm Alain Garnier, CEO of Jamespot.

Q: What is your product?

Jamespot, a collaborative platform and all in one solution for Intranet, Enterprise Social Network, project management, documents & visios.

Q: Is it SaaS? PaaS? IaaS? Other?

Jamespot is a SaaS solution.

Q: Do you provide your technology to cloud operators?

We haven't yet, but it is an option for the future.

Q: Are you a market leader? Who do you consider leader in your market? Does GAFAM play any role in your market?

We are a French market leader for ESN (enterprise software networks). Of course there are big competitors, such Microsoft with Office365 and Google Workplace.

Q: What are the unique selling propositions of your product? Is your solution different or better than competing solutions?

Jamespot is unique because of its ability to be adapted to the business context without developpement. Moreover, Jamespot is running a full sovereign stack in Europe, which is also becoming more and more important for clients.

Q: Which free and open source software solutions do you use?

Many, for example Mysql, Apache, PhP, Node.js, Redis, K8S, React, Jitsi, SolR, OnlyOffice.

Q: What components did you develop yourself?

Social Object Management, Activity streams, and lots of Applications used in Jamespot. It should more than 100.

Q: What are the strong points of your technology?

Full integrated Social & Collaborative user & object management without a height scale - Jamespot can handle millions objects and millions users.

Q: Can you name users or clients of your solution? Preferably in the CAC40, DAX30, Fortune500, European governments?

BPI, BNP, French Gov, Renault, Saint Maclou and many more. Overall we have over 300 corporate clients.

Q: Why did this client choose your solution rather the solution of the market leader or GAFAM?

Usually sovereignty, customiseablity and choice of available applications are the arguments named for why clients chose to work with us.

Q: What European policies do you suggest to ensure sustainable development of your technology and its adoption?

A Buy European Act is long overdue from my perspective.

Q: To what extent are the interoperability projects financed by France and Europe likely to guarantee the development of European cloud technologies?

Interoperability is a key to force GAFAM to expose thei APIs and other integrate their tools, such as Teams for instance. As long as every provider is a locked up wallet garden, we will not advance.

Q: Can you give us an idea of sales/staff/clients/end users over the last 3 years?

Turnover is around 4M€ in 2022. We're serving over 300 clients which total more than 500.000 users.

Q: Tell us about a successful implementation. How did you implement it, why was it a success, where is this implementation today? Plans for the future? How is the relation with the client? Did the client help you get other clients?

CNAM in France was very successful. We're handling today more than 80.000 users in a full Intranet & social network to facilitate day to day work.
